Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Otutsum Shrine in the Gerudo region.
- The theme is Hit and Run — precision ball-striking across three increasingly complex rooms.
- A steel orb sits on a pedestal at the entrance, and each room has a socket that the orb must reach to open the next gate.
- The difficulty rating of 4 is well-earned.
- Step 2 — Room 1: The simplest room.
- The socket is mounted in the far wall at floor level, directly ahead.
- Position yourself behind the orb and strike it with a two-handed weapon heavy attack.
- A fully charged swing sends the orb rolling straight into the socket.
- The gate to Room 2 opens and the orb reappears on a new pedestal in the next room.
- Step 3 — Room 2: The socket is positioned behind a thick stone pillar — a direct shot is impossible.
- The orb must curve around the pillar.
- Use Ultrahand to grab a small rudder-fin device from the parts shelf on the left wall.
- Attach the fin to the back-right side of the orb at a slight angle (about 15 degrees from center).
- When you strike the orb, the fin creates aerodynamic drag on one side, curving the orb's path to the right — banking it around the pillar and into the socket.
- Step 4: Before proceeding to Room 3, check the side niche in Room 2's right wall.
- A chest containing a Diamond (worth 500 rupees — the most valuable single gem in the game) is hidden here.
- This is the highest-value chest in any Gerudo shrine.
- Step 5 — Room 3: The socket is elevated about 3 meters off the floor, requiring an upward launch.
- A hammer device (a hinged arm with a weighted head) is mounted on the floor.
- Use Ultrahand to adjust the hammer's pivot angle — tilt the hinge upward so the hammer strikes the orb at an upward angle rather than horizontally.
- Position the orb in front of the hammer's strike zone.
- Pull the hammer back with Ultrahand and release — it swings forward and uppercuts the orb into the air, arcing it into the elevated socket.
- Step 6: The final socket click opens the altar gate.
- Walk through and claim the Light of Blessing.
- Abilities needed: Ultrahand (fin attachment, hammer manipulation, orb positioning).
- Pro tip: In Room 3, if the orb consistently falls short of the elevated socket, try attaching a Zonai Spring to the orb's underside before placing it in the hammer's strike zone.
- The spring adds a bounce effect on contact with the hammer, amplifying the upward launch force.
