Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Dakoiya Shrine in the Lanayru region and immediately assess the arena.
- The entire floor is flooded with knee-deep water, and a single Electric Lizalfos stands at the center.
- This enemy discharges electric pulses that travel through water — standing in the water during its attack means guaranteed shock damage and weapon dropping.
- Step 2: Before engaging the Lizalfos, look to the left wall.
- A large wooden platform leans against it.
- Use Ultrahand to drag the platform into the water and position it as your fighting stage.
- Wood does not conduct electricity, making this platform your safe zone for the entire encounter.
- Step 3: Stand on the wooden platform and draw your bow.
- Fire non-metal arrows (wooden or bone arrows work; metal arrows conducted through water deal reduced damage) at the Lizalfos from range.
- Two headshots stagger it and interrupt its electric charge-up animation.
- Step 4: When the Lizalfos charges toward your platform, wait for it to lunge within melee range.
- Perform a back-hop dodge (press backward plus jump) at the precise moment of its strike to trigger a Flurry Rush — land all five slow-motion hits with your strongest weapon.
- The wooden platform keeps you safe from the electric discharge that follows its attack.
- Step 5: Repeat the pattern — two bow shots to stagger, then bait its charge for a Flurry Rush counter.
- Two full Flurry Rush sequences plus three total bow headshots defeat the Electric Lizalfos.
- Step 6: Once the Lizalfos falls, wade through the now-safe water to the dry ground at the far end where the altar awaits.
- Claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: On the right side of the arena, a partially submerged stone shelf holds a chest containing a Zora Sword (15 attack, deals bonus damage when Link is wet — perfect for water-heavy Lanayru areas).
- Ability needed: Ultrahand to position the wooden platform.
- Flurry Rush timing is critical for efficient combat.
- Pro tip: If you lack wooden arrows, throw Shock Fruit into the water before the fight — it paralyzes the Lizalfos for 4 seconds since it stands in its own conductive element, giving you free melee hits from your safe wooden platform.
