Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Farosh Shrine in Lanayru is a Blessing shrine unlocked by collecting a body part from Farosh, the Lightning Dragon — one of three legendary dragons circling Hyrule.
- Farosh follows a fixed flight path around Lake Hylia and up the Floria River, appearing each morning beginning around 5:00 AM game time.
- The best interception point is the Lakeside Stable near Lake Hylia or the cliffs above Riola Spring.
- Step 2: Build a campfire (Flint struck against Wood) and rest until morning if Farosh is not visible.
- When the dragon appears, it glides slowly along its circuit trailing electric sparks.
- Paraglide off the nearest high point to match its altitude.
- Step 3: While airborne near Farosh, draw your bow to activate bullet-time (slow motion while aiming mid-air).
- Fire an arrow at any of its glowing body segments: the body yields Farosh's Scale, claws yield Farosh's Claw, fangs yield Farosh's Fang Shard, and the horn yields Shard of Farosh's Horn (the rarest and most valuable for armor upgrades).
- Any material works for the offering.
- Step 4: The material drops from Farosh and lands on the ground or in the water below — it glows bright green and is easy to spot.
- Collect it and travel to the offering altar in the Lanayru region (marked on your map once you have a dragon material in your inventory).
- Place the material on the altar to activate the shrine.
- Step 5: Enter the shrine and walk directly to the altar.
- No puzzle or combat awaits inside — the dragon hunt was the trial.
- Claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: Inside the shrine, a chest to the right of the altar path contains a Topaz (worth 180 rupees and useful for upgrading Rubber Armor).
- Ability needed: Paraglider is essential for reaching Farosh's altitude.
- Bullet-time bow aiming (activated by drawing a bow mid-air) makes hitting the dragon significantly easier.
- Pro tip: Attach a Keese Eyeball to your arrow before firing — it creates a homing arrow that tracks Farosh automatically, virtually guaranteeing a hit even at extreme range.
- Farm Keese Eyeballs from the bat swarms near any cave entrance at night.
