Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Kumamayn Shrine in the Lanayru region and immediately assess the danger — the entire shrine floor across all three interconnected chambers is flooded with conductive water, and four Electric Lizalfos patrol the rooms.
- Fighting in the water means every electric discharge chains to you instantly, so preparation is critical before engaging any enemy.
- Step 2: At the entrance, locate the wooden plank supply cache on the left wall.
- Six long wooden planks are stacked here.
- Use Ultrahand to drag out three planks and position them as elevated walkways connecting the three chambers — wood does not conduct electricity, making these planks your only safe fighting surfaces.
- Step 3: Chamber 1 contains a single Electric Lizalfos.
- Stand on your wooden plank walkway and throw a pebble or small rock near the Lizalfos to lure it toward you.
- When it approaches within bow range, fire two arrow headshots to stagger it.
- While staggered, deliver a three-hit melee combo from the safety of the plank.
- Two stagger-and-strike cycles defeat it.
- Step 4: Chamber 2 also contains a single Lizalfos.
- Cross to it via your plank walkway and repeat the lure-stagger-strike pattern.
- Collect any dropped materials (Electric Lizalfos Horns are excellent Fuse materials for shock weapons).
- Step 5: Chamber 3 is the most dangerous — two Electric Lizalfos patrol simultaneously.
- Position your planks so there is only one approach direction, creating a bottleneck that prevents flanking.
- Lure one Lizalfos at a time using pebble throws to opposite corners.
- Fight each one individually on the plank — if both attack at once, their combined electric discharge covers a massive area.
- Arrow headshots from the plank are the safest approach for the double encounter.
- Step 6: Once all four Lizalfos are defeated, wade safely to the altar at the far end of Chamber 3.
- Hidden chest: In Chamber 2, a submerged alcove on the right wall contains a chest with a Rubber Helm (provides Level 1 Shock Resistance — part of the Rubber Armor set that grants full shock immunity when completed).
- Ability needed: Ultrahand is essential for positioning the wooden plank walkways.
- Ranged combat skills (bow headshots) are critical for safe engagement.
- Pro tip: If you own the full Rubber Armor set (Helm, Armor, Tights), equip it before entering this shrine.
- Full shock immunity lets you fight in the water without any risk, trivializing the entire encounter.
- The Rubber Armor pieces are found via side quests in Lurelin Village and the Faron region.
