Fan
Description
A spinning Zonai fan that generates directional airflow when activated. The single most important propulsion device in the game — it powers the meta hoverbike, sailboats, airplanes, and ground racers. Fans draw very little energy per second, making them the most efficient sustained propulsion available. Two fans angled slightly downward on a flat base with a Steering Stick between them create the hoverbike that every experienced player builds within the first hour. Found in Zonai Capsule Dispensers on every Sky Island cluster and dropped by Zonai Constructs throughout the Great Sky Island.
Best Uses
Hoverbike assembly (2 fans + steering stick) — the #1 meta vehicle for all traversal
Sailboat propulsion on a raft, log raft, or flat board across lakes and rivers
Airplane propulsion (2 fans rear-mounted on a Wing + Steering Stick)
Shield-surf speed boost when fused to a shield for fast flat-terrain gliding
Wind tunnel and airflow shrine puzzle solutions
Ground racer (2 fans facing backward on a flat platform for fast land travel)
Spin-up platform: mount a fan horizontally on a large flat stone for slow rotation
Pro Tips
*
Angle both fans slightly downward (not straight back) on the hoverbike for combined lift AND thrust — this is the secret to the hoverbike working.
*
Fans drain very little energy — they are the most efficient propulsion device per km traveled.
*
Fuse a fan to a shield for boosted shield-surfing speed across flat snow or sand terrain.
*
Two fans on opposing sides of a long board create a stable ground vehicle — add a Steering Stick for control.
*
Fan dispensers are most reliable on the Great Sky Island and the Thunderhead Isles sky cluster.
*
Common mistake: mounting fans facing the wrong direction. The air comes OUT the back — the front of the fan pushes forward.
