Rocket

Movement
Single use (consumed)

Description

A single-use explosive thrust device that launches any attached object (or Link himself) in the direction it points when activated. Provides one of the biggest single bursts of velocity in the game — far beyond anything a Fan can achieve in a single moment. A Rocket fused to a shield becomes the rocket shield, launching Link through the air on a perfect dodge. Rockets are consumed after one use, so inventory management matters. Found in Zonai Capsule Dispensers and dropped frequently by Construct enemies throughout Sky Islands.

Best Uses

1

Instant vertical launch for rapid altitude gain to reach Sky Islands

2

Rocket Shield (fuse to any shield) — on a perfect dodge, the rocket fires you in a burst direction

3

Launch ramp: attach to a sled facing forward for extreme burst horizontal ground speed

4

Supplemental hoverbike boost: attach a rocket to the bottom of your hoverbike for emergency altitude

5

Emergency combat escape by blasting vertically out of melee range

6

Sending heavy platform loads skyward quickly in shrine puzzles

Pro Tips

*

Fuse a Rocket to your shield — on a perfect dodge the shield fires you at massive speed in the dodge direction.

*

Rockets are one-use. Carry 5-10 at all times for emergency situations and Sky Island access.

*

Point direction matters: the flat base end is the exhaust. Rocket "nozzle" faces backward, thrust goes forward.

*

Attach a Rocket to the bottom of a Wing-based airplane for a runway-free launch from flat ground.

*

Two Rockets side-by-side double the initial thrust — useful for launching very heavy constructions.

*

Common gotcha: activating a rocket before you mount the vehicle sends it flying without you. Activate AFTER mounting.
