Step-by-Step Walkthrough
1
Reach the Lava Island
The shrine crystal for Timawak is located on a small volcanic island in the middle of a lava river on the southwest slopes of Death Mountain. Wear Flamebreaker Armor at level 2 (both pieces upgraded) to resist the intense heat — unprotected Link takes rapid burn damage near the lava. Use the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower to launch and glide to the island from above, landing on the cooled black rock platform where the crystal rests.
2
Gather Materials for a Lava Raft
Near the lava river banks, find a Zonai device dispensary stocked with metal platform slabs, fans, and rockets. Metal does not burn in lava — avoid using wood or organic materials. Pick up two large metal slabs from the dispensary using Ultrahand. You will also need two or three Zonai fans for propulsion. Optionally, grab a flame-guard Zonai coating construct if available.
3
Build the Fireproof Raft and Transport the Crystal
Assemble the metal raft by attaching two slabs side-by-side for width, then attaching fans at the rear pointing backward for forward thrust. Attach the shrine crystal to the top of the raft using Ultrahand, ensuring it sits flat and will not roll off. Board the raft, activate the fans with a Zonai charge, and navigate across the lava river. Steer using your weight shift or add a steering construct to maintain direction toward the opposite bank where the shrine pedestal glows.
4
Insert the Crystal and Access Timawak Shrine
Land the raft on the bank near the shrine pedestal. Use Ultrahand to carefully lift the crystal off the raft and carry it to the pedestal. Insert the crystal — the Timawak Shrine rises from the volcanic rock. The shrine interior features fire-and-lava mechanics: direct Yunobo's rolling charge at thermal switches, and use metal platforms to cross lava channels inside. Complete for a Light of Blessing.

4
Consider equipping the Fierce Deity Set or Barbarian Armor for maximum attack power before the hardest encounters.
