Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Shada Shrine in the Lanayru region and observe the electrified puzzle layout.
- The shrine combines electric circuit mechanics with metal block placement across two sections separated by a water gap.
- In Section 1, a metal conductor block sits on the ground connected to a live circuit — touching it directly or standing in nearby water while the circuit is active shocks Link for significant damage.
- Step 2: Use Ultrahand to grab the metal block from a safe distance (Ultrahand's beam does not conduct electricity).
- Lift the block high enough to clear the water gap ahead, then carry it across to the exposed copper terminal on the far wall.
- Lower the block carefully onto the terminal — you must make flush contact between the block's flat face and the terminal plate.
- When the connection completes, sparks fly and the powered door in Section 1 slides open.
- Step 3: Proceed through the powered door into Section 2.
- This section is more complex: two separate metal blocks must bridge a single circuit gap simultaneously to power the elevator mechanism.
- The gap has two terminal pairs, each requiring its own block.
- Step 4: Position both blocks using Ultrahand before connecting either one.
- If you connect one block first, the partial circuit creates a live electrical field around the second terminal pair, making it dangerous to place the second block.
- Instead, hover both blocks over their respective terminals, then release them in quick succession (release one, immediately grab and release the other).
- Both circuits close within moments of each other, powering the elevator.
- Step 5: Before riding the elevator, check the alcove near the far terminal.
- A chest containing a Topaz (worth 180 rupees — essential for Rubber Armor upgrades at Great Fairy Fountains) sits against the wall.
- Collect it.
- Step 6: Ride the now-powered elevator up to the altar platform and claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: The Topaz in the alcove near the far terminal in Section 2.
- Ability needed: Ultrahand is the only ability required.
- Precise block placement and understanding of electrical conductivity are the core skills tested.
- Pro tip: Metal weapons and shields also conduct electricity in TotK.
- If you must walk near live circuits, unequip all metal gear and switch to wooden weapons and shields to avoid accidental shock chains.
