Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Enter Arancia Shrine in the Hebra region and survey the main chamber.
- A frozen river bisects the room — a thick mass of ice blocks the main walkway and conceals a pressure plate embedded in the floor beneath it.
- The walkway is impassable until the ice is cleared.
- On the far side of the frozen river, a second section contains the altar, but a raised bridge prevents crossing.
- Step 2: Melt the ice mass blocking the walkway.
- You have two options: fire a Fire Arrow directly at the center of the ice block (two arrows for full melt), or use a Flame Emitter Zonai device placed adjacent to the ice (faster but consumes battery).
- As the ice melts, the released water flows into a carved stone channel running along the floor.
- This channel feeds a water wheel mechanism on the wall.
- Step 3: The flowing water spins the water wheel, which is mechanically connected to the raised bridge via a gear system.
- As the wheel turns, the bridge lowers into a walkable position spanning the frozen river.
- The bridge remains down as long as water continues flowing — the melt volume provides enough water for approximately 90 seconds, plenty of time to cross.
- Step 4: Sprint across the lowered bridge to the second section.
- Here, a heavy stone door is sealed shut by another large ice block frozen directly against its surface, locking the door mechanism in place.
- Fire a second Fire Arrow at this ice block (or use the Flame Emitter again) to melt it.
- The door mechanism releases once the ice clears, and it slides open.
- Step 5: Behind the now-open door, a treasure chest sits on a pedestal containing a Sapphire (worth 260 rupees — also a key upgrade material for Snowquill armor at Great Fairy Fountains, providing essential cold resistance for Hebra exploration).
- Do not skip this chest.
- Step 6: Continue past the chest room through the corridor to the altar at the shrine's far end.
- Claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: The Sapphire behind the ice-sealed door in the second section.
- Ability needed: No shrine abilities (Ultrahand, Ascend, Recall, Fuse) are required.
- The puzzle is solved entirely with environmental manipulation — fire melts ice, water powers machinery.
- Fire Arrows or a Flame Emitter Zonai device are the key tools.
- Pro tip: If you lack Fire Arrows, use Fuse to attach a Fire Fruit or Ruby to a regular arrow for the same effect.
- Alternatively, drop a bundle of Wood near the ice and strike it with a Flint to start a fire — the radiant heat melts nearby ice over about 15 seconds, slower but free.
