Hebra

The frozen Hebra region covers the vast northwestern corner of Hyrule — a winter wilderness of deep-snow mountain ranges, towering pine forests, frozen lakes, and wind-blasted snowfields. Rito Village sits at the boundary of Tabantha and Hebra, perched atop a massive natural rock spire in the middle of a frozen lake, accessible by spiraling wooden walkways and rope bridges. The Hebra Mountains themselves are the most sustained cold environment in the game: Level 2 cold throughout the deeper mountain zones, with Level 1 cold on the lower approaches near the Tabantha transition. The region is the setting for the Wind Temple quest involving Tulin and the Rito people, who have been trapped in an eternal blizzard generated by an ice-sealed dragon circling the peaks. Defeating the source of the blizzard is one of the main story objectives. Visually, Hebra is one of the most stunning regions in TotK: aurora-like lights occasionally appear in the clear-night sky, and the snow-covered pine forests below Hebra Peak feel serene and otherworldly. The Sturnida Secret Hot Spring hidden in the northern snowfields is a beloved discovery — stepping into the warm water provides free healing in the middle of the frozen wilderness. Shield surfing on Hebra's slopes is faster than running and is one of the game's most enjoyable traversal methods.
