Maren's Tip
Remember — if a shrine gives Rauru's Blessing with no puzzle inside, the real challenge was reaching the entrance. Check the surrounding area!
Walkthrough
- Step 1: Wao-os Shrine is a Rauru's Blessing shrine in the Hebra region, unlocked by completing the "Sled Down Hebra Mountain" crystal quest — one of the most entertaining crystal quests in the game.
- The crystal sits at the very top of a steep icy slope on Hebra's western face, near the summit peak marker.
- Equip full Snowquill Armor (Level 2 cold resistance required) before climbing, as the summit is at extreme altitude with punishing cold.
- Step 2: Climb to the summit from the southeastern approach (the most gradual slope with natural ledges for stamina recovery).
- The climb takes about 3 minutes with two full stamina wheels.
- At the summit, the crystal glows on a flat rock beside the peak marker flag.
- Step 3: The quest objective is to transport the crystal to the receptacle at the base of the slope — roughly 500 meters below.
- Carrying it by hand down the icy cliff face would take forever and risk dropping it into crevasses.
- Instead, build a Zonai sled from the parts scattered near the summit: two flat boards and two curved runner pieces are lying near the crystal.
- Step 4: Use Ultrahand to assemble the sled — attach the two runner pieces beneath the flat boards to create a functioning sled chassis.
- Then attach the crystal to the sled's top surface using Ultrahand — press A when the green highlight appears to fuse it firmly in place.
- The crystal must be attached securely; if it is just resting on top, it bounces off during the descent.
- Step 5: Position the sled at the slope's edge, facing downhill.
- Mount the sled by standing on it and using the control stick to lean forward.
- The sled begins sliding down the icy slope, gaining speed rapidly.
- Lean left and right to steer around rock outcroppings and ice formations along the descent.
- The ride takes about 30 seconds and reaches exhilarating speed — one of the most fun experiences in TotK.
- Step 6: At the bottom of the slope, the receptacle glows on a stone platform near the treeline.
- Dismount the sled near the receptacle and detach the crystal with Ultrahand.
- Place it into the receptacle ring.
- The shrine materializes at the slope's base.
- Step 7: Enter for Rauru's Blessing — no puzzle or combat inside.
- Claim your Light of Blessing.
- Hidden chest: Inside the shrine, a chest near the altar contains a Diamond (worth 500 rupees — one of the highest-value shrine chest rewards in Hebra).
- Ability needed: Ultrahand for building the sled and attaching the crystal.
- No abilities used inside the shrine.
- Pro tip: The sled you build for this quest can be reused — after placing the crystal, detach the runners and boards and rebuild the sled for recreational sliding.
- The Hebra slopes are the best sledding terrain in TotK.
