Central Hyrule
The heart of Hyrule, dominated by the towering Hyrule Castle and the sprawling Hyrule Field. This is where Link first descends from the Great Sky Island and establishes a base at Lookout Landing. The region serves as a crossroads connecting every other area of the map, making it the natural hub for early-game exploration. Geographically, Central Hyrule is defined by its wide open plains — Hyrule Field stretches in every direction from the castle, broken by rivers, ruins, and the occasional rocky outcrop. The Gloom emanating from the castle corrupts the land in concentric rings, leaching life from anything that steps in it. Roads built in a more peaceful era still radiate outward from Castle Town, now patrolled by monsters, but also traveled by merchants, stablehands, and wanderers. Notable geographic features include the Hyrule Moat (a ring canal now poisoned with Gloom), the Central Square ruins, and the ancient Sacred Ground where shrines once stood. The sky above Central Hyrule is perpetually overcast near the castle, brightening to open blue further south toward Hyrule Field.

Exploration Tips
Activate both Skyview Towers early — they reveal the entire central map and give you launch height for Sky Island exploration.
Lookout Landing is your main quest hub. Return frequently for new side quests, upgrades, and Purah's directives.
The roads radiating from Central Hyrule lead to every major region. Follow signposts from Lookout Landing to orient yourself.
Hyrule Castle contains powerful weapons, ancient armor, and the Hylian Shield — worth raiding early despite the Gloom risk.
The Coliseum Ruins contain a Lynel — avoid until well-equipped. It drops excellent weapon fuse materials.
All 15 stables are accessible from roads originating in or passing through Central Hyrule — using Lookout Landing as a hub is efficient.
The Castle Town Ruins beneath the floating castle contain the entrance to the Gloom Lair in the Depths.
